More info (in finnish) about the Monsters Of Pop -competition or BIT07 (Big In Tampere 2007) in the Valo blog. Our quote is lame, but truthful. Erm, a small correction: "occasional keys & percussion" in our bio means that they are played by one of our 4 members. That's why they happen only occasionally. So we don't have 6 members, ever. Hmm, a nice idea actually, does anyone here play any bongos?
The other bands are Garage Flower, Genzale and Poor Jim. Damn, they are good! They will kick our asses! Or maybe we will kick their asses! Or maybe everybody will have a good time, somebody will get the gig and everybody will have a pint or two together afterwards (preferred outcome).
Ok, band competitions...hmh... well, this is not exactly skiing, is it? Can't win or lose by 1/100 second like the legendary Juha Mieto. Of course some bands are perhaps better than others, but how can you measure that? And so on and so on blablabla philosphy blablabla art.
But we'll naturally give up all principles when the prize is right. Like a chance to get to play in Monsters of Pop -festival. That's what we'll be competing for in Tampere's Yo-talo (Yo!) on Saturday 21.4. with some other Finnish pop unknowns. Go Streetcar go! Faster faster!
Well, we're monsters and we're pop, we'll handle this (Damn, why couldn't we think of that one when the Aamulehti reporter asked for a quote...mental note, must improve press handling capacity)
No gigs, no, wait, 2 gigs (01.03.2007)
24 hours ago we had no upcoming gigs, now we have 2. There should be more days like this. Streetcar will return to Liberté and debut in Semifinal. Great! More info coming as the spring comes and the birds slowly return.
Edit 13.3.: Ok, the Liberté gig is with Hanna Marsh, who does some solo stuff with a piano and Captain Cougar who do their dreamy folkpop thing. Semifinal gig is with the pop veterans Flannelmouth.
Video killed the mp3-star (26.02.2007)
Managed to get the new web site engine working and we now finally have a 2007-category in history and also a new history chapter. This history chapter has our most Web 2.0-ish thing since hitting 1000 friends in MySpace: a YouTube-video! Enjoy all 28 seconds of it. More coming up if something happens...
The inner workings of the whole site are also totally reworked, but it all looks nearly same, so nobody really cares and goes "ooh!" and "wow!". Hmm, some small bugs still remain, right now the 'Last time something was done'-date seems to point 2 years into the future...
We just wanted to say that we now have 1000 MySpace-friends! Hurra! Doesn't mean a shit in real life, but it's still great. Thanks for all who have listened to our music and wanted to be our friends and we're really sorry for everyone who we have pestered with friend requests. MySpace = The Place. Currently, at least. It's so Web 2.0!
New stuff from last year (05.02.2007)
Hey, looky looky, there's some new history chapters on the right. This wraps up the 2006 saga for Streetcar and new 2007 stories will appear immediately after we figure out why this ¤#% website doesn't allow a new "2007"-category for the history section. Soon...
Thank you Mendocino, erm, I mean Belly (11.01.2007)
Thanks for everyone present in Belly yesterday. Good clean fun, though our gear was falling apart and Ville wasn't really sure where he was... :-)
